It is with great sadness that I write to inform you of the passing of George Coster, a long-time member and a Past President of the Essex Vice Presidents’ Association.
George passed away peacefully on Boxing Day with his loving daughter, Emma, at his bedside.
The funeral is at 10.30 am on Friday 21st January 2022 and will take place at :-
Three Counties Crematorium, Halstead Road, High Garrett, Braintree, CM7 5PB
The wake will follow the funeral and will be at :-

Many of you will already have heard the sad news that my dad, Bob, passed away last week after a spell in hospital. There was nothing sinister about his demise, he was just old and frail and couldn’t soldier on

All are welcome to join us in this celebration of his life and since restrictions are lifted, we are able to give him the send-off he richly deserves

After the service, you are all invited to join the family at a reception at the Cedars Club (RM6 6TT) on the corner of Mill Lane, Chadwell Heath

Ashford Cup Trial
The Ashford cup Trial was held on 9-5-2021 at Grays town B.C. with Group5 playing Group9.
The match ended all square with each group winning 3 rinks.
Although Group 9 ended the game with a 10 shot advantage it was a great effort by our bowlers.
Change of Dates
Due to having to comply with the Governments Covid Road Map a number of competition dates have changed:-
Wally Ball game 1 was 13th June now 27th June
Wally Ball game 2 was 20th June now 11th July
Wally Ball game 3 was 17th June now 18th July
Wally Ball Final was 11th July now 8th August
Inter Group game 1 was 13th June now 18th July
Group 5 - Seeley Trophy Round 2 was 29th June now 6th July
Group 5 - Champ of Champs Round 2 was play by 29th June now play by 6th July.

National lockdown: Stay at Home
Bowls England has been inundated with enquiries from clubs and county associations regarding the Coronavirus outbreak, and they will ensure that each and every enquiry is responded to as soon as possible.
They have produced a number of documents including ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ and supplementary guidance in response to the enquiries received. These will continue to be updated as we deal with the ever‐changing situation.
