Competition Rules
Champion of Champions is a "Club" entry open to the previous years winner of the "Clubs" Men's Singles Competition provided that he is registered with that "Club" at the start of the current season. Each game shall consist of 21 shots, 4 bowls each player.
Geoff Hatfield is an individual entry open to any male bowler registered to a "Club" in Group 5 at the start of the current season. Each game shall consist of 21 shots, 4 bowls each player.
Two Wood Singles is an individual entry open to any male bowler registered to a "Club" in Group 5 at the start of the current season. Each game shall consist of 21 shots - 2 bowls each player.
Wauer Trophy is an individual entry open to any unbadged male bowler registered to a "Club" in Group 5 at the start of the current season. Each game shall consist of 21 shots, 4 bowls each player.
Veterans Cup is an individual entry open to any unbadged male bowler who has reached the age of 60 on the 1st April of that year registered to a "Club" in Group 5 at the start of the current season. Each game shall consist of 21 shots, 4 bowls each player.
The 2023 Cordell Cup - due to the small number of entries will be played as a “Round Robin”
This Competition is a "Club" entry. Entries on behalf of individuals will not be accepted. A team entry will consist of 3 rinks of 4 male players each with 2 bowls. A match will consist of 21 ends on each rink and the result decided upon by aggregate shots. 1 Point is awarded to the Overall Winner, also Each Winning Rink is awarded 2 Points on a drawn Rink each team will be awarded 1 point each. Thus giving a total Match Score of 7 Points. The Winner of the Competition will be on a highest points basis in the event of Clubs having equal points the Winner will be determined by the "Shot Difference". All Rounds have been drawn and in all rounds the matches will be played on the Home teams (Challenger's) green on the day/time as allocated on the Group 5 calendar. A "Club" may field different players in succeeding rounds ONLY if the substitute player(s) have not played in another different team. Confirmation of the result must follow asap after the match and all score cards of the winning team signed by each skip must be supplied to the Competition Secretary either by email or post.
Cordell Cup is a "Club" entry. Entries on behalf of individuals will not be accepted. No restrictions will apply to the number of teams entered by a "Club". A team entry will consist of 3 rinks of 4 players (one lady per rink is permitted) each with 2 bowls. A match will consist of 21 ends on each rink and the result decided upon by aggregate shots. In all rounds including the semi final all matches will be played on the Home teams (Challenger's) green on the day/time as allocated on the Group 5 calendar. In the event of the aggregate scores being equal when all ends have been played, an extra end or ends must be played by ALL THREE rinks until a decision is reached. A "Club" may field different players in succeeding ties ONLY if the substitute player(s) have not played in another different or defeated team. Confirmation of the result must follow asap after the match and all score cards of the winning team signed by each skip must be supplied to the Competition Secretary either by email or post. For the final before the start of the game the Umpires will allocate the rinks.
Beckett Trophy is a "Club" entry. Entries on behalf of individuals will not be accepted. No restrictions will apply to the number of teams entered by a "Club". A team entry will consist of 2 rinks of 4 male players each with 2 bowls. A match will consist of 21 ends on each rink and the result decided upon by aggregate shots. In all rounds including the semi final all matches will be played on a Home and Away basis on the same day/time as allocated on the Group 5 calendar. In the event of the aggregate scores being equal when all ends have been played, an extra end or ends must be played by the Home team (Challenger) until a decision is reached. A "Club" may field different players in succeeding ties ONLY if the substitute player(s) have not played in another different or defeated team. Seeley Trophy is a "Club" entry. Entries on behalf of individuals will not be accepted. No restrictions will apply to the number of teams entered by a "Club". A team entry will consist of 2 rinks of 3 male players each with 3 bowls. A match will consist of 18 ends on each rink and the result decided upon by aggregate shots. In all rounds including the semi final all matches will be played on a Home and Away basis on the same day/time as allocated on the Group 5 calendar. In the event of the aggregate scores being equal when all ends have been played, an extra end or ends must be played by the Home team (Challenger) until a decision is reached. A "Club" may field different players in succeeding ties ONLY if the substitute player(s) have not played in another different or defeated team. A team entry will consist of 2 rinks of 4 male unbadged players each with 2 bowls. A match will consist of 21 ends on each rink and the result decided upon by aggregate shots. In all rounds including the semi final all matches will be played on a Home and Away basis on the same day/time as allocated on the Group 5 calendar. In the event of the aggregate scores being equal when all ends have been played, an extra end or ends must be played by the Home team (Challenger) until a decision is reached. A "Club" may field different players in succeeding ties ONLY if the substitute player(s) have not played in another different or defeated team. N.B. No Extensions will be granted but each Club / entry shall have the option of playing a match previous to the specific round date/time by mutual consent, excluding the final.
In the event of any dispute or matters arising from these competition rules, the decision of the Executive Committee and Competition Secretary will be final.
The Finals will be held at one of Group 5's Club's green.
